Eight Features That Set Google Bard Apart from ChatGPT

Upgrades to Google Bard
During the recent Google I/O conference, Google unveiled the impressive upgrades to its AI chatbot, now known as Google Bard, which is now accessible in over 180 countries. Bard, based on the advanced AI model PaLM 2, was developed to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft's GPT-4 powered Bing.

Eight Features That Set Bard Apart
Here are eight features that set Bard apart from ChatGPT:

1. Access to the Internet
Unlike ChatGPT, Bard has direct Internet access, enabling it to provide comprehensive answers by tapping into real-time information, top news, and up-to-date data. ChatGPT, on the other hand, can access the web only through plugins on its paid version.

2. Image generation
Bard excels in generating images as responses, thanks to its integration with Adobe Firefly. This enriches the conversation visually and offers users more contextually relevant information.

3. Voice prompts
Bard outperforms ChatGPT in voice interaction, allowing users to engage with the chatbot using voice input. This offers a convenient option for multitasking or situations where typing is not feasible.

4. Coding capabilities
Bard surpasses ChatGPT's coding abilities, offering support for over 20 programming languages like C++, Python, Java, TypeScript, and more. It assists professionals with code generation, explanation, and debugging, providing an edge over its competitors.

5. Gmail integration
The integration of Bard with Gmail is a significant advantage, enabling seamless interactions within the widely used email service, offering new possibilities for email interactions.

6. Export responses
Bard allows users to export results instantly to Gmail and Docs, making it easy to share generated content with friends and colleagues.

7. Image prompts
Bard stands out with its ability to use images as prompts, allowing users to seek assistance based on visual input, a feature not yet introduced even in ChatGPT's paid version.

8. Webpage summarization
Bard's internet connectivity allows it to summarize web pages simply by sharing the link, while ChatGPT requires manual copy-pasting of content for the same function.

Does Have Limitations
Despite Bard's impressive features, it does have limitations, particularly in terms of toxicity. During testing, the model produced toxic responses in certain scenarios. It's essential to consider these aspects while evaluating its performance compared to ChatGPT and GPT-4. While Bard competes with GPT-4, direct comparisons are challenging due to differences in architecture and testing methodologies.
